Theodore Pond Sterling Silver Porringer.
Theodore Pond (1872-1933) is best known as a teacher. He held positions at the Rhode Island School of Design, the Mechanics Institute in Rochester, NY, the Maryland Institute, the Ohio Mechanics Institute and the Akron Art Institute. He established the Pond Applied Arts Studio in Baltimore which operated from 1911-1914. He produced silver and copper metal work of outstanding quality. His work is quite scarce.
This porringer is an excellent example of his work. It is significantly heavier and shows better craftsmanship than most comparable examples from the period.
